FYP 2 Week 6 – Designing PCB Layout

Schematic Design

PCB layout design is started with the schematic design which is all about constructing the circuit design just as the one done in simulation software.

Generate PCB Layout

The PCB layouts are generated in PDF format with exact real world sizing.

FYP 2 Week 5 – PCB Design Learning class

With having successfully simulated each of the required circuit and satisfactory output results, now the first step to PCB layout design can be started.

Something coincidence happened on this week was a class on learning PCB Layout Design was conducted by an expertise on the design method in my university that took place for the whole day from morning till evening. The software used for the designing purpose was called Altium designer.

Using Altium Designer software, the PCB development can be done. Altium Designer is the electronic design software that has ability to design PCB and build the next generation of electronic products besides designing 3D PCB layout environment and many more. Altium Designer is a powerful yet easy to use system development platform for FPGA, PCB and embedded software development built on “uniqum layeed” platform architecture. But for this project, this software only used to design the PCB layout.

However, we only learned to design PCB layout using this software during the class. Since start of the class, I jot down notes on every single details related to this software installation till the method of using or enhancing this software tools in developing the PCB layout required which all seem to be very useful.

FYP 2 Week 4 – Combining All Circuits In One Simulation

The simulation of overall and complete circuit of this project is as shown in figure below. This overall circuit is a combination of four circuits which are AC – DC converter, charging circuit, voltage comparator, and voltage balancer.

Each of the circuits in this simulation function according to the specific function as explained in previous weeks for each particular circuits.
